Help Rebuild Pop's Donuts and Medical Relief

Hello everyone, my name is Ashley Rapp, and I am setting up this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin Chuck Holtman. In Milford, Ohio, Chuck owns the well-loved bakery: Pop's Donuts (pictured above in a prime season).

 

Unfortunately, Saturday evening, 3/12/22, there was a gas explosion from the main oven. The force of this explosion blew Chuck across the bakery and started a flash fire, that luckily didn't catch the bakery on fire, but did hurt Chuck. He sustained burns on his face and arms and after a few days at UC Hospital he was just recently released and is now recuperating at home.  The blast also damaged the oven and completely blew out the entire front end of the store. The building frame, windows, doors, cases and equipment had significant damage that he will need help rebuilding. The total damages are still unknown at this point, but we have set the donation goal as an estimation for replacement of at least the damages we can see.

In case you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Chuck personally, let me share a little about him. He is constantly supporting others in their times of need and gives freely to this community.  He has donated substantial amounts of baked goods for community events, schools,  and other fundraisers.  When Covid hit he started baking fresh loaves of bread and even still donates free bread to local families in need- he truly has a heart of gold! 

 

As a fellow business owner and baker, I can't imagine how it would feel to be recovering from severe injuries while unsure about how and if my business could recover, not to mention the staff that is unable to work while the shop is closed.

 

I know this community LOVES Pop's Donuts and wants to see Chuck healed and the business up and running better than ever before. I am asking you to donate if you are able and whether you can donate or not, please help us share this fundraiser - let's show them how much support they have as they navigate this challenging time. Funds raised here will go directly to rebuilding the Donut Shop and Chuck's mounting medical bills.
