Help Rebuild My Parents' Life

On Wednesday night, my parents lost their home in a fire. The fire started in the basement and completely overtook the kitchen above it and started to burn the master bedroom where my parents were sleeping. They told me they woke up to clouds of smoke and couldn’t see or breathe, they just knew they had to get out fast.

My father was treated at the hospital for minor burns but other than that, I am so grateful that they are alive. Our pets, 2 cats and a bird, were not able to be saved and unfortunately passed away.

The picture below shows the master bedroom. As you can see, my parents lost absolutely everything. Every shirt, every shoe, every Q-tip, everything. While insurance covers the cost of the house being gutted and rebuilt, my parents have to replace their immediate needs out of pocket.

I have come up with an estimate for toiletries, winter coats, warm clothes, and clothes for work. I want to help them so they can focus on rebuilding their lives but I can’t help them on my own.
