Help rebuild Mirka’s life after boat explosion

Mirka is a beautiful and energetic young woman who came to Australia from Slovakia to start a new life.
She works in Sydney as a manager at an organic retail store, which is an industry that she has always wanted to work in. Mirka is loved by her friends and the local community which she gives so much to, and those that are close to her know how funny she is with her unconventional humour.

Over the Easter long weekend, Mirka was involved in a horrific boating accident on the Hawkesbury river while celebrating her 30th birthday. There was an explosion on the boat which caused multiple casualties, with 6 people suffering severe burns and 4 in a critical state.
Mirka was admitted to the Royal North Shore hospital in a critical state with deep burns to 30% of her body: mainly her hands, arms, legs and front torso. Mirka is currently in the intensive burns unit undergoing skin grafting surgery and multiple other painful treatments. Roughly every 3 days she needs to have her wounds cleaned to remove the dead tissue so she does not get an infection. This is an extremely painful process which causes extreme fever after every procedure.
There is no timeframe as to when Mirka will be discharged from hospital, but we have been told by the doctors that it will be a long and painful road to recovery.

Mirka is on a bridging visa with no private health cover and at this time we don't know exactly how much the financial burden will be for her long term rehabilitation, loss of income, rent, bills and cost for bringing her family to Australia. We do know that the financial pressure will be significant. Mirka has no family in Australia and in times like this where we appeal for your and the community's support so good people like Mirka have a small fighting chance to get through a traumatic experience like this.
