Medical Expenses for Alison

Donation protected
For anyone who knows miss Alison Marshall you love her energetic and wonderful personality. Alison got sick in January. The first sign was chest pain when she would breathe to deep or move her left arm. Her mom took her in and was told she had a pulled ligament, they were denied an xray. She was given prescription aleve and sent on her way. This happened two more times with two more doctors over the course of 4 months. Denied xray each time. Finally on Mother's Day it got so bad that they took her to ER - Dr tried telling us to go to the chiropractor - but they let them know they wouldn't be leaving without an xray. At that point they said she had A-typical pneumonia in her left lingual lobe. Not "normal" pneumonia for a teenage girl, and that it was pretty bad. Three days later they followed up with the PC Dr and her lab's didn't seem to match that diagnosis so they did a CT. That night they ended up in the ER. That ER Dr, Dr. Mark Vossler FINALLY listened to them, he read the CT and said they had every right to be concerned and sent them to a Pulmonologist in Sioux Falls. There they did another xray and called and told them after consulting with a team of Dr's they were afraid she had an Inflamatory Pseudotumor and needed to consult a surgeon and pulmonologist in Minneapolis. Once there the surgeon did a biopsy and found a 5 inch mass in her lung that was full of puss! After 7 days in the hospital they finally found that she has a very rare disease called Blastomycosis. You can't even get it in SD - so she must have picked it up the previous June when she camped in the Great Lakes. Thank God it wasn't a tumor!!! They drained the puss pocket, but she still has a mass over 4 inches inside her lung. But we now have a diagnosis and a very long road to recovery. Poor girl takes 4 large pills a day and will need imaging and labs every month for 6 months to a year! Alison has always been the type of girl to go all out or nothing at all!. We are asking if you can monetarily help this family. It would be greatly appreciated, and if you can only help through thoughts and prayers, that is equally as wonderful. Thank you!
