Help Raise Funds to Protect Mudchute Farm

Mudchute Farm is a vital part of the Isle of Dogs Community.  The farm is open every day free of charge, it is home to over over 100 animals, houses a community children's nursery and hosts a wide range of children's educational services,  including equine therapy for disabled children.  

Sadly, Mudchute Farm, our local gem, is being regularly threatened by arsonists, who attempt to set fires in the Farm on an almost nightly basis.  These same people have also attacked the animals in the farm, most recently terrorising the pigs and covering them in ketchup.  The Farm has also experienced the theft of its tractor and the animals have suffered serious abuse on many occasions.  

A local security firm has very kindly agreed to provide security to the farm at cost, but as the Farm is a charity, we need to ask for your help to ensure that the Farm can stay safe for the community's enjoyment, the environment and the animals' safety.  The security firm has agreed to have regularly nightly patrols, has a canine unit to deploy when needed to deal with Anti-Social Behaviour and most of the staff are police trained.  Importantly, the firm they already has a significant presence on private developments on the Island, so they can respond to ASB callouts within minutes.


We are looking to raise funds to cover the annual cost of security for the Farm.  We would be very grateful if you could give what you can to keep this special place safe for everyone's enjoyment.
