Help raise funds for Yasmine’s memorial bench.

As many of you would be aware, earlier this year we experienced the tragic, unexpected loss of Yasmine Marie Owens. A beloved daughter, sister and best friend.

Yaz had an aura about her that made her stand out in the crowd. A wicked personality which you couldn’t help but love and beneath all that a heart that was kind and pure. Which is why she had such an effect on so many people.

We are hoping to have a memorial bench installed at cwmcarn forest drive. The drive and Twmbarlwm are places of significance to both yasmine and family.

It is the mountain she grew up on, enjoyed years of walking and exploring. Yaz for a time worked at the visitor centre cafe at cwmcarn forest drive, and for her 23rd birthday during the pandemic we had a festival themed camp out. Yaz would often frequently walk her dog Zeiko around the mountain and up to the Tump.

Discussions have started with Caerphilly county council and cwmcarn forest drive about having a memorial bench fitted in Yaz’s name.

We are hoping to raise £1000 to cover the cost of the bench and instillation. With the excess funds being donated to mental health and suicide awareness charities.
