Help raise funds for life saving Defibrillators

Charity walk from Hull College Craven Park, Hull KR, to The John Smiths Stadium, Huddersfield Giants

Hi there,

My name is Liam and I currently work for Hull KR Community Trust. My aim for this go fund me page is to raise money to provide Hull College Craven Park, home of Hull KR, with several defibrillators which will be situated within the stands.

On Wednesday 27th October 2021, my dad suffered a cardiac arrest nearby to Hull Royal Infirmary, luckily the amazing nurses at the hospital got to him in time and with the use of a defibrillator, saved his life. As a family we will forever be grateful for that nurse and all the other medics who helped and continue to help my dad on his road to recovery. This put into perspective for me just how important these pieces of equipment are.

As a Trust, we work within the Community and also run our own projects within the stadium daily which sees a lot of participants attending sports sessions. We hope they would never need to be used but having those defibrillators on site will give ourselves and those attending our sessions piece of mind. Not only will they benefit the Trust and the projects within the stadium, this will also benefit the club as a whole due to the mass of supporters that attend games throughout the Super League season.

To help raise the funds needed we will be participating in a charity walk to Huddersfield, which will be Hull KR's first away game of the 2022 Super League season. This will cover a total of 71.8 miles over a 24 hour period. The fixture between to two teams will take place on Saturday 19th February 2022. As a group we will leave Hull College Craven Park at 10am on Friday 18th February 2022. On route to Huddersfield we will be walking via Castle Hill Hospital as this is where my dad received his life saving surgery. We are hoping to arrive at Huddersfield in time for the 3pm kick off on Saturday 19th February 2022.
