September 5th- His medical bills got cleared, but still need to raise funds to send the body and for the family

September 8th- Nurul Islam body has been sent to his family, Alhumdulilah. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this campaign. Still raising funds for the family.

Mohammed Nurul Islam was a Bangladeshi labor worker in Dubai, UAE.

A day before Eid Al Adha he started to feel sick, and the medication given to him by doctors wasn’t helping his condition, so we got him admitted in Sharjah, Al Qassimi hospital and from further testing it was concluded he has tuberculosis. However, no medication was working on him and his health kept deteriorating, to a point where he went into coma and his organs started to fail. On September 1st, 2018 Mohammed Nurul Islam lost the battle to tuberculosis and passed away. He was admitted in the hospital for two weeks, which was billed DHS 107 000 (CAD 38 000) but we negotiated with the hospital and now the bill came down to DHS 10 000 (CAD 3500). However, to send his body to his family in Bangladesh will cost an additional DHS 15 000 (CAD 5000). We also want to do something for his family, he was the only breadwinner, he has a young daughter and wife in Bangladesh. His family has no one to depend on anymore, he was their only support, who did labor work in Dubai and sent money to them. They don’t have any savings, since labor workers just earn enough to provide the basic needs for their family back home.

We want to raise at least DHS 42 000 (CAD 15 000) from which his medical bill and embalmment charges will be paid off and the rest of the donations will be sent to his family in Bangladesh. Just imagine what his family is going through, they got a phone call one day that he is sick all of a sudden, and after few days they get to know he passed away, and they couldn’t even be beside him, nor did they still get to see his body. They don’t have the financial means to come all the way to Dubai, nor do they have the money to take his body back to Bangladesh.

My parents used to know him personally in Dubai for the last 8-10yrs and they are devastated, he was known as an honest hardworking man, who wanted to do a lot more for his family. But Allah had other plans for him, and Allah knows best.

However, just because he was a labor worker and poor doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve a funeral, just because his family is poor doesn’t mean their pain and agony isn’t worth our time and money. What happened with them can also happen with us, it doesn’t take long for Allah to shake up our world and take away what we have. I request you all even if you can only donate $1 then please do so, that also makes a difference.
