Help Raechel & Tyler Get Back on their Feet

Donation protected
On February 14, Delair Court, the Abbotsford apartment building  in which Raechel, Tyler, Cadence, and Sophia live burned in the middle of the night.  The building is uninhabitable; those units not burned suffered extensive smoke and water damage. Thankfully everyone escaped safely, but they left the building with only the clothes on their backs. Raechel and Tyler have lost almost all of their possessions. We are grateful that Emergency Services provided a voucher for some immediate clothing and toiletries. We hope to be able to salvage some dishes and pots and pans but we understand from the building manager that most of their belongings, especially the furniture, will be unsalvageable.

As a family, we are raising funds to help Raechel, Tyler, Cadence, and Sophia rebuild after this devastating fire. Their belongings were not insured and financial donations will be used to replace household items, clothing and footwear, and educational items and toys for the children. Significantly, because Tyler works as a part-time instructor in political science at a number of universities, his means of earning an income--academic books and a laptop--are kept in their home and have been destroyed. At least some of these must be replaced for him to be able to do his job.

We also have a list of furniture and other items that are needed. If you are local and would like to see the list, please contact me and I will share it.
