Hello, lovelies! My name is Cecilia Qu'in, and I'm a BIPOC/queer American multidisciplinary artist specializing in events management, marketing, and sex-positive performance art. While I've loved my home in Sacramento, the fact is that almost 90% of my work lies in the Bay Area. And if I were to ask for public assistance at one point in my life... it would this one.
So here's what I need help with specifically:
∙$1,200 = Estimated deposit for 1st month's rent in SF. **1st goal achieved!!**
∙$1,000 = Remaining deposit to keep my new vehicle with. [Due June 15th]
∙$1,300 = Cost of the moving van, gas money (for work to/from Sacramento AND the moving van), and the first payment for my ER hospital bill.
∙Estimated TOTAL GOAL = $3,500.
I would also like to make it clear that I do not "expect" anything from anyone. I've worked full-time since I was 13; always motivated to live and work for my family, my employers, and my friends. Even now as I type this, I am actively interviewing for 5 new contracts and hustling to find work between gigs. However, with all my money currently going to work-related travel and medical expenses... I could really use some assistance.
Please help this queer, BIPOC powerhouse MOVE TO THE BAY. I've fallen in love with this city for more reasons than I'll ever be able to list here, and as a freelancer who spends half her days sleeping in her car and on friends' couches or spare bedrooms (while paying for rent in a beautiful home I rarely get to see)... it would truly mean the world to me to be able to wake up in my own bed more often. I still need to find another $1000 to finish the new car's down payment next month IN ADDITION to accommodating another $400+/mo I had NOT previously planned for... but I know I will continue to do everything in my power to make that work.
