**UPDATE!** Our first film was a success and it’s getting distributed to multiple streaming services this year!!! We still need help, though! Artwork and marketing and DVD production is expensive and we need some help with that, as well as raising funds for the SEQUEL THAT IS HAPPENING! Details on the sequel are staying hush-hush for now but many of the actors from the original cast are back to reprise roles or take on new ones under makeup and disguise!***
Horror Nerd Productions is setting out to film our first ever feature-length film, showcasing local talent in the Reno/Sparks area. We have most of what we need to film, however, props and costuming are expensive and to give the film the extra “kick” it needs to scare the hell out of our audience, we are asking for tour help! If we hit our goal, everyone will be listed in the credits as part of the film and the set will be open to any donors who want to come watch the film being made. Independent filmmaking is a very hard endeavor, and I’ve spent a lot of our funds in camera equipment, so seeking some outside help is a must in order to make this film the project we hope it can be. Your help can get multiple local actors a job doing what they love, and help an indie filmmaker deliver thrills and chills.
Every donor will have their names listed in a “Special Thanks” section of the critics. $250 will be given a Producer’s credit, $500 will be an Executive Producer. We will be premiering the film in a local theater(s) and donors are welcome to attend at no charge in a special seating area. Films take a lot of time to make, so the target for this isn’t for some time, but to get started we need to be able to purchase the props. Our target to begin production on this beast is this Summer. All filming dates and locations will be released to donors interested in watching the production or interested in lending a hand!
The film, “The Devil’s Children,” is a religious horror film following the events of a brutal murder, the disappearance of four college kids, and a mysterious cell phone video that may hold the key to what happened when a seance goes wrong. We intend to showcase “old school practical effects” and scares, and this film is designed to showcase the local talent that Reno has to offer. For many actors, this will be their first time to act in front of the camera, and we want to give them an excellent experience with this film. We can do that with your help.
