Prevent Human Trafficking Through Education

Please help Pacific Links Foundation raise $20,000 for the Girls Empowerment Mekong Scholarships (GEMS) program. This program supports at-risk middle school girls and prevents the spread of human trafficking.
Who we are:
Pacific Links Foundation ("Vòng Tay Thái Bình" in Vietnamese) is an organization with more than 15 years of experience working to empower women and youth in Vietnam. Our mission is to support the sustainable development of Vietnamese communities and the enrichment of their cultural heritage. Since 2005, we have awarded scholarships to keep more than 2,600 at-risk girls in school and safe from traffickers.
What we do:
We empower women and youth through life skills trainings and building supportive networks through several of our programs. Our Education program empowers disadvantaged youth by providing access to education and employment opportunities. Our counter-trafficking program helps to prevent trafficking and supports survivors as they build new lives. Trafficking survivors who received vocational training through our programs have gone on to open their own businesses, become chefs in the hospitality industry, and work in beauty salons.
All of our students were born into poverty, so we are focused on building comprehensive, long-term programs that support them as they work to overcome challenges in their communities, including pressure to drop out of school.
How will these funds be used?
The money we raise through the Girls Opportunity Alliance Fund will be used to:
- Provide scholarships to 40 at-risk girls covering tuition and fees, school uniforms, books, school supplies, after-school tutoring, graduation testing fees, and health insurance
- Support a five-day summer camp for 40 at-risk girls to broaden their perspective on future career paths, build self-confidence, develop life skills, and learn how to safeguard themselves against human trafficking

Your donation to benefit this campaign/project will be allocated to the Girls Opportunity Alliance Fund (“GOA Fund”), a project of GoFundMe.org (a U.S. public charity).
