UPDATED: Help Prevent Eviction for a Dedicated Advocate
Donation protected
UPDATE: by God’s grace I’ve been able to secure emergency aid through a local housing service provider, but the deadline to receive funds is 8/20/25. I need to secure $1,500 by then.
ORIGINAL PLEA
I’m keeping my head up, focused on goals, and I need help along the way.
I find myself with a 9/5/2025 at 10am remote initial hearing for possible eviction with Equity Residential Management, LLC over my current $10,389.86, 3 months plus fees, past due rent account balance. I’m currently seeking assistance in other ways (i.e., from my church, family and other venues) to little avail.
I have lived at this location in Washington DC for a little over 5 years and this is the first I’ve been in this position. The past due rent comes from robbing Peter to pay Paul since having to assist with my mother’s knee replacement surgery late last year among prioritizing other responsibilities and needs.
For context, I’m currently full-time employed as a faith-based justice advocate, the Minister of Social Justice of my church, starting a Doctorate of Ministry program on 8/19, and my mother and sister have both had major health issues stemming from last year that I’ve had to assist with, in addition to loss of income resulting from the current Administration’s deregulatory and recission efforts.
I came to DC in 2019 to continue my call to ministry: to be a change agent, minister of social justice in and through the church, fulfilling a power-building, peace and justice-making Micah 6:8/Luke 4:18-19 mission for the edification of We The People, ultimately for God’s glory, on earth as it is in heaven.
I pray you can help. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
