Help Poli's Paws

Donation protected
Hello from Shay and Zay! We are posting on here on behalf of our sweet dog Poliahu. Many of you who know us, know how much our sweet Poliahu means to us. Over the last year and a half Poliahu has been to the vet numerous times for checkups, bladder infections, fevers, yeast, and her feet. Those of you who have gotten to meet our grumpy yet very sweet girl know that she has many different health issues. One of the most prominent issues is her feet. She has several masses/growths that  are covering both of her front feet. We have had a few different opinions from vets about the growths ranging from fatty tissue to allergies. Within the last 4 months the largest growth has almost doubled in size and has broken open many times. Last night we noticed that Polis front foot and up to the ankle joint was very swollen. When we woke up this morning Poliahu had bled all over the bed. Her growth has continued to bleed through out the day. Thankfully our vet was able to squeeze us in today. The news was not the best news but also not the worst. We need to get the swelling down and then work on getting the largest mass removed. The problem with getting the mass removed is that it is so large and there is not enough skin on the foot to close it back up. The vet said it would most likely need to heal as an open wound and that in itself can cause many complications. We do not have a lot of options at this point due to the fact that if we do not remove it, it will continue to grow as well as continue to break open. We are still looking at different options with the vet. Poliahu also has some sort of auto immune disorder that the vet has not yet been able to identify due to lack of funding. We ran a senior panel on her (it cost 400+$) back in June and it showed that she did in fact have a very low T4 level. Her thyroid was then checked but it is apparently functioning well. The vet thinks that she possibly could have cushing syndrome due to the low levels, distended stomach, weight gain, and skin issues. Before we get her tested for her other ailments we need to take care of her foot. We set up a go fund me to see if anyone is able to help us by praying, sharing, and or donating. We know that times are so tough right now for everyone. The vet sent us home today  (our visit was 200+$) with an estimate of $983.63 to get the mass removed and sent out for a biopsy. I have attached a few pictures of Poliahu as well as Poliahu's feet. We appreciate all of the love and support and will keep everyone updated on any progress.
