Help Peter Beat Lymphoma

Donation protected
On June 26, 2017, my fiancé Peter Blanchet was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. When we received the news, I felt like the entire world came crashing down.

Peter first started chemotherapy in August of 2017. He went through many cycles only to find it wasn't working as well as they'd hoped. He was immediately put on a new chemo regiment. During this, he experienced multiple trips to the hospital due to significantly dropped white blood cell counts and other serious side effects. Once he was done with this chemotherapy, he went on to radiation to kill the small amount of cancer that was left. Once an entire month of daily radiation treatments was finished, we had to wait 3 months for his final scan.

A few weeks ago, we received the results. Instead of hearing the words "cancer free" - we received the news of what I now call the worst day of my entire life. His cancer is worse. Two different intense chemotherapy regiments and radiation failed to work. He started with stage 2 cancer and he now has stage 4. It's called Refractory Hodgkin's Lymphoma, basically meaning stubborn/unresponsive to treatments. It's been about a year of fighting, and there's a lot more to come to finally beat this. The road ahead of him holds even more intense chemotherapy and eventually a stem cell transplant.

I often think to myself, "he's only 24... how is this possible... why did cancer choose him?" I can't even put into words how devastating the past year has been. As all of Peter's friends and family know, Peter is the most amazing, loving person on this planet. He doesn't deserve this. He has so much more life to live.

We're asking for your help with medical payments during this hard time. I'm not one to ask for help, but the financial burden of these treatments, especially the impending stem cell transplant, has proven to be far more than we ever could have imagined. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket expense has been extensive and will continue to be hard to manage. Anything you can offer would be more appreciated than you can imagine. Thank you in advance for your support.
