Help Pay For Sakura's Treatment

On August 1, 2021, Sakura was hit by a car. After bringing her to an emergency vet, we were met with a bill around $2000. They found that she had no broken bones, did a quick ultrasound, and monitored her condition with high doses of pain medication to keep her comfortable. However, the next day, they had found that, overnight, her condition had worsened and, internally, she had a small amount of free fluid. We were met with the choice of paying for treatment with a low estimate of $2000, assuming her condition improved, and a high estimate of $4000, with her staying 4 days. If surgery was required to tackle whatever was causing the free fluid, the cost would come to total at least $8000. When asked if we were able to bring Sakura home for the night and take her back the next day to get her checked with an ultrasound, the vet instead backed us into a corner. Instead, we were met with two choices: let Sakura stay for 2-4+ additional days and pay for the treatment, or bring Sakura home, and be forced to go to another vet. Unable to pay for the treatment, we were met with the difficult choice of taking Sakura home to monitor her ourselves.

For now, Sakura remains on pain medication with us hoping for the best. However, without proper medical treatment, we fear the worst. As the days go on, we fear that whatever is going on internally will take her from us.

Sakura, for the past 5 years, has been the sweetest, cutest dog that any family could ever ask for. Her playfulness and constant energy has given our family a life I could never describe in words, but I can't imagine a life where she's taken away from us so soon.
