Help Pay for Kevin's Family Funeral Expenses

In this difficult time we send our condolences to our dearest and closest friend, Kevin, and the Duarte family for the unfortunate passing of his father Jose Luis Duarte and his grandmother Eva Torres in the same week from severe pneumonia. His grandmother on January 5th and his father on January 8th. The situation of losing not one but two loved ones in the span of a week comes not only with a heavy heart but financial burden and strain. Kevin has not only been a great friend but he has been a great son, brother, uncle, scholar, and above all else, mentor. He is hardworking, patient and kind, and has been for as long as we have known him. We can’t remember a time where Kevin hasn't been there for us and his family regardless of what hardships he is currently going through. Kevin has been working part time jobs since high school to save for school and for his family. Now, as a new graduate at just 22 years old he bears the responsibility of working two jobs just to pay for the mortgage on his family home and other living expenses. Because his family does not live with him, he bears the responsibility of paying the mortgage on his own. We cannot even pretend to understand these pressures at our age. Even now, after losing his grandmother and his father in the same week, he minimizes his own needs, saying that he doesn’t want anyone to worry. But we do worry, and we want to help alleviate some of his worries. We want him to be able to take as much time as he needs to spend with family, without worrying about his expenses at home. We ask of you to help our friend and his family with their financial stresses so that they’re able to grieve the loss of their loved ones. We appreciate the support.
