Help pay for Ekanem’s hospital bills

Ekanem Abasi Ofon (29) is a final year computer engineering student at Taraba State University. Well known for being very friendly and quiet but also known as a passionate drummer and a lover of everything tech in his local community.

Recently, Ekanem underwent surgery for brain tumor removal & cerebrospinal fluid drainage. Despite being young, strong and determined to live Ekanem still needs the support of doctors and nurses in order for him to fully recover from his surgeries and illness. Everyday his hospital bills cost 250,000 Nigerian Naira ($625). Doctors estimate that Ekanem needs a few months in hospital care to fully recover, where he will no longer need a ventilator to sustain his breathing.

$15,000 will cover all of Ekanem’s medical expenses. To date, Ekanem’s fees have only been paid by family and immediate friends. Ekanem’s family have exhausted all of their personal funds to keep him alive. It has been extremely hard for them during these Covid-19 times.
