Help pay for Angus’ lifesaving surgery

Angus is our amazing, loving little boy and he’s had to undergo emergency lifesaving surgery.

The first time we met Angus, he was 4 weeks old and in foster care having been found with his siblings in a cardboard box in a carpark in London. Our first photo of him was on a tartan rug and this, coupled with his ginger fluff, inspired his Scottish name.

He has been my daughters constant companion since we brought him home six years ago.

Last Friday Angus went out, and didn’t come home, something that has never happened before. When he finally returned 36 hours later, he’d suffered life changing, HUMAN INFLICTED, injuries. He’d been kicked between his back legs so hard that his urethra was ruptured and his penis was totally destroyed. He had no means of emptying his bladder, he was unable to walk, he was black and blue and he was in agony.

After two days with the local vets he had to be transferred to a specialist veterinary centre for surgery that would save his life. He’s had to have his penis removed, his urethra repaired and a means to wee has had to be created. Then all the other muscular damage had to be repaired.

The amazing news is that, after 8 days, Angus is at home with us. He will need a lot of ongoing care, but we’re ready.

Angus is insured, but the policy only covers the first £6,000 of his care. The bill from the vets so far come to £13,000 and this will increase as his care continues.
