Help Patty with medical bills and expenses

Donation protected
On behalf of the Quines family, I would like to thank everyone for their support, kind words, love and prayers since the passing of our dear Patty. It has truly been overwhelming.

We have loved hearing Patty stories over the past few days and we would also love to see your Patty pics. We've created a Google album here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/hGDUjGEDAiuKfVig8

Please upload no more than 15 pictures for use in a slideshow.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

UPDATE: It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you all that Patty passed away on Saturday, April 1st.

She was a fighter until the end. The disease was ultimately too far advanced in its course, however, and her body just gave out. She led a blessed life, lived each day to its fullest and followed her passions. She died surrounded by people who loved her with all their hearts.

Thank you all for your generosity. It truly meant the world to Patty that you were all willing to help her out in her time of need. All funds will go towards bringing Patty home to California from New York and for the funeral services.

----------

My dear cousin Patty was recently diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic stomach cancer. Since moving to New York from California at the end of January, Patty had been experiencing abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and weight loss. Doctors at first thought it was an ulcer, but after being admitted to the hospital on March 16th, masses were found in her stomach, liver, ovaries, lymph nodes and peritoneum - the lining of her abdomen.

Patty had been experiencing shortness of breath and fast heart rates which were due to her abdomen being filled with fluid and fluid in her lungs. Over 4 liters of liquid were removed from her abdomen and she immediately felt relief after that procedure. The tumor currently obstructs the upper opening of her stomach and she has not been able to eat without throwing up. A tube was placed in her nose which goes directly to her small intestine for supplemental nutrition. She’s been in a state of prolonged starvation and needs to be monitored for electrolyte abnormalities.

Patty just started chemotherapy and recently finished her first round. The cycle lasts for 6 weeks. When done with the cycle, they will do another CT scan to see how the cancer has responded to treatment. Ultimately, the goal is to bring Patty back to California to continue her treatment in the Bay Area.

I am humbly asking for help with Patty’s medical bills and the family’s daily expenses. As Patty had just started a new job in January, her medical insurance had not kicked in yet and she is currently on COBRA. Additionally, Patty’s sister and parents are in New York and their expenses are growing - food and other necessities, rides back and forth to the hospital and they will soon be moving to an extended stay hotel for an indefinite amount of time.

Any amount will help and would be greatly appreciated! Please continue to pray for our Patty. She is strong and she is a fighter. She will fight this!
