Help Patti Fight Breast Cancer!

It’s with a heavy heart that I share that my mother, Patti Abrahamson-Peters, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Please help my sister and I help her to focus on her healing and not the financial hardship of cancer.
At the end of September, Patti went for a routine mammogram and an abnormality was found. She then followed up with a biopsy on October 11, 2018.
On October 16, 2018, Patti was diagnosed with stage 3 invasive lobular and stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer in her left breast. More imaging was ordered after the doctor saw some additional abnormalities in the lymph nodes. After the imaging on October 18, 2018, an additional abnormality was found in the left breast which led to another biopsy on October 19, 2018 that was identified as another area of invasive lobular cancer.
Patti has a long road ahead of her. On November 6, 2018, she will have a double mastectomy and a lymph node dissection at Brookings Health System. Her recovery period will be 4 to 6 weeks, or even longer. The doctors are unsure if she will need to receive chemo or radiation after her surgery as well as other follow-ups.
As you might know, cancer treatment is incredibly expensive, even with insurance coverage. Your donations will go toward the cost of her medical care and her medications as well as daily living expenses – rent, utilities, food, etc. She needs help to pay for the treatment she has already received, as well as the continued treatment she will need this year. She will be unable to work for several weeks as well.
Patti is committed to living a healthy life and doing everything she can to continue down the road of recovery. Patti has the support of her two daughters, Ashley and Allie. Help us help her focus on healing rather than the medical bills and other expenses that come with having cancer. Anyone that knows her knows how kind, caring and giving she is to all she meets. She adores her children and grandchildren.
