Help Our Sweet Friends Rebuild Their Life

Donation protected

On the night of January 14th 2021, our dear, sweet friends Luciel Hernandez and Tom Roughton lost their home to a devastating fire. Luciel was given mere moments to evacuate their home because their entire apartment building was in flames. Luciel luckily escaped unscathed with no physical harm and just the slippers on her feet while the building burned to the ground all around her, consuming everything she owns as this was her home for the last 4 years and Tom's for the last 9 months. While Tom at work, feared for the life of his love, Luciel, center of his universe and partner for life. This fire is being classified as one of the worst, most damaging fires that the neighborhood of Bushwick has seen in years. Anyone who knows Luciel and Tom knows that they are the most caring, giving, incredible souls who would literally give the shirt off their backs to anyone who needed it. This is by far one of the hardest life moments they as a unite of love are currently experiencing and the harsh reality is that it’s very tough to ask for help, especially when said persons are usually the ones always helping others. Let’s return the favor and do whatever we can to help these angels slowly rebuild their life and everything they've lost. Material things can be replaced in time, however unfortunately, any sentimental items are gone forever and the only thing that can even remotely begin to repair that loss, is the outpouring of love and giving that a community can provide. We are aware of the fact that we are still smack dab in the middle of a global pandemic, however we are asking anyone with the means to do so, to help in any form of contribution that you can. Your generosity will be forever appreciated and cherished more than you know.

For those of you who may not be able to donate by way of financial means, but have other forms of donations (ie: clothing, furniture, meals, etc) please reach out to the email provided and we’ll be sure to provide you with more information in that regard.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to offer words of encouragement and hope, or any sort of donation towards this tragic loss. The amount of love and support a community provides is priceless so thank you for being apart of that. What the last year has taught us is that amongst the chaos, fear, and confusion there is hope in LOVE, may we all cherish what we have and continue to support our friends and family during what seems to feel like unbearable times.

***THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE SUPPORT***

The generosity everyone has shown has been nothing short of breathtaking. With all of your help, rebuilding is going to be  considerably easier. We look forward to a time in the hopefully-not-too-far-off future where we can thank you guys
properly. Until then, we're taking this one day at a time and trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Please be safe, and hopefully we can all see each other later this year on better terms. Also, SIGN UP FOR RENTER'S
INSURANCE TODAY. Appreciate each and every one of you guys, and thanks again for all y'all's support.
