Hi we are Laura and Mike! We have recently started fostering two senior girls that had been dumped at a local shelter. Both English Bulldogs named Patricia and Selma. While we will want to adopt them we have been focusing on a lot of medical issues for both gals. They had been neglected for most of their lives and have not experienced normal dog things....like playing with toys or how to hold a bone. As time has passed we have come to love them and just want to do whatever we can for these precious girls.
The scoop with Selma is that she was bred, not spayed, Deaf, two torn ACL in her back knees, has seizures, not housebroke, and now finding mammary tumors, a mass in her bladder, heart worm positive (currently going through treatment). While the rescue could help with funds; the amount of dogs being taken in is a lot and would like them to use those funds on animals in need that don't have homes. We would like to cover this round of Selma's medical needs as she has just seen an oncologist to get a game plan for her. We will be getting a few results the week of Thanksgiving and possibly having an ultrasound to get a better look at the mass in her bladder. She is a senior and estimated about 11 years old so time is not on her side. So we want to get started immediately on getting her feeling her best self. We want to give her a wonderful quality of life and do what we can for this gal.
