Help Brian Upton beat cancer

We have set up this gofundme page to help support a true champion, Brian Upton. Brian has worked for us as a contractor for 18 months and shown himself to be an individual of true character, he has also had a run of very bad luck. Brian supported his wife through her recent battle with cancer and needed to take on multiple jobs including driving for Uber, working at the Gold Coast Turf Club as well as sales and service for us to help pay for the mounting bills associated with treatment. Not that he complained, it needed to be done and in typical Brian fashion he got out there and got on with it.
In November 2017 Brian himself was diagnosed with prostate cancer and needed to have immediate surgery to remove his prostate as this particular cancer was aggressive in nature. During that operation the surgeon discovered that the cancer had spread to his bladder. Brian is now going through chemotherapy and will progress onto radiotherapy to help treat the cancer in his bladder. Medicare covers the cost of chemo but only partly covers the cost of the radiotherapy, additional funds are needed to cover the shortfall from Medicare.
During this most testing time when one could fall into depression or give up Brian has kept a positive attitude and has taken up the fight to win his battle against cancer. He maintains his training regime as a triathlete and aims to compete in the World Titles in September on the Gold Coast. I would encourage all who know Brian to help him financially and help raise the short fall of funds needed for his treatment but also to give him the option of knocking back work when he feels sick. His current work doesn't include sick pay due to being a contractor and he can no longer work at the Gold Coast Turf Club, as this job involved standing for long hours at a time which he is no longer physically able to do when suffering from the side effects of his cancer treatment.
I have taken it upon myself to spread the word about Brian's current circumstances and set up a gofundme page, as he would never expect or ask for a hand out. Our assistance towards helping Brian financially would go a long way in alleviating his current financial pressure, and give him the opportunity to rest during his recovery period between treatments and not have to worry about working. Most importantly we have the opportunity to help a great mate get better, any support no matter how small will go a long way and will be greatly appreciated.
