Help Our Jack Fight Cancer

Donation protected
Our Jack - a happy, thoughtful caring Brockhill student, a typical teenager who loves his gaming consoles a massive Chelsea supporter and an avid Formula 1 fan.
On the 9th September 2021 our world fell apart when he was diagnosed with cancer aged just 15

Jack had been complaining of feeling poorly from the end of July through to August 2021, we had visited the local A&E department several times along with many consultations with his GP.
Within that time the diagnosis ranged from Gastroenteritis to Anxiety
On the 3rd September Jack attended A&E again with his dad only this time his dad refused to leave until they got to the bottom of what exactly was causing Jack to feel so poorly.
Thankfully the doctors listened and admitted him into hospital with an Impacted bowel, several days later after various unsuccessful attempts to clear his bowels they sent him for an ultrasound which revealed several masses in his upper and lower abdomen, a CT scan quickly followed which confirmed that Jack had cancer.
Jack was then blue lighted from The William Harvey to St George's hospital London where he spent 13 days under a surgical team in order to get his bowels working, thankfully they managed it without surgical intervention.
Whilst he was in St George's a biopsy was carried out and on the 17th September it was confirmed Jacks cancer was a rare aggressive Sarcoma.
He was then transferred over to The Royal Marsden where he started 9 blocks of intense chemotherapy in order to shrink his tumours.
He responded really well to the first initial 9 blocks so his oncologist decided to give him a further 5 blocks in order to shrink his tumours further.
On the 13th June 2022 we went to Jacks clinic for his latest scan results and to find out what the next steps in his journey would be.
Jacks Oncologist explained that even though Jack has responded really well with his chemotherapy the surgical team at Basingstoke feel there is still too much disease for surgery at the moment so all they can do is offer him a different chemotherapy for 12 months to try to shrink it further.

We know in order to try to rid Jack of the cancer he needs surgery asap so we are now looking at going abroad for treatment, Jacks Oncologist is currently in talks with the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital in New York with the hope they will offer to do the surgery Jack desperately needs, we are hoping to raise as much as we can as the financial costs are going to be high, we have no idea on the exact figure until we hear back but need to start the ball rolling with the fundraising asap.

We appreciate you reading this and would welcome any donation no matter how big or small to help our Jack get the surgery he so desperately needs

Many thanks
Shane & Emma
