Help our friend Jonny Lichtl come home

As many of you know, our friend Jon (J5) Lichtl was in a severe motorcycle accident on the morning of Wednesday January 26. A car crossed the centerline on Highway 11 and hit him head on. Jon was medevaced to Queens hospital in critical condition. Dr’s at Queens said most people with his injuries would not have made it to the hospital alive and that his helmet saved his life. Unfortunately, he suffered irreparable trauma to one leg and it had to be completely removed. He will require many more surgeries over the next few weeks. Jon’s fighting spirit is still there and we want to give him the most encouragement and security we can when he wakes up.

 

 

Now we are looking to the future and need to raise money for Jon and his family. Jon had just started a new job that he will not be able to return to even if he heals quickly. Money will be needed to cover medical costs and to ensure Jon can have a full life when he gets out of the hospital. His family may also need to travel back and forth between Hawaii Island and Oahu as his surgeons have projected that he will be recovering at Queens for at least one month. At this point we know he will need adaptive medical supplies, and other help with his daily expenses.
