Help our QUB Final Year Medical Student colleague graduate!

It has come to our attention that one of our fellow year 5 medical student is in a dire situation financially with regards to their outstanding tuition fees of approximately £15,000.

 

The background to this situation is distressing and completely outside of the student’s control. The student has exhausted all other financial options available and if they cannot pay the outstanding amount by July, they will not be able to graduate or begin their F1 role. As we are all aware how much work, passion, dedication and resilience each medical student is putting into their degree, we believe offering them a helping hand by donating towards covering their outstanding fees would be the best and most collegial gesture we can all make. This would mean our colleague will be able to come up on stage with us on 4th of July and receive their Medical Degree.

We as fundraiser organisers are not at all related to the student in cause. We are trying to raise funds for a fellow international student who is in financial difficulties and cannot pay their fees. To avoid identifying who the student is, us the student reps and the student in financial difficulty have agreed to use the payee's account as a proxy. The trusted payee will then transfer funds to the student who needs them, who will in turn pay QUB. Proof of transfer will be provided at any stage. The funds will be spent on covering the study fees for the student and will be transferred to the finance office
