Help our Dad survive his Lymphoma Brain Tumors

Our dear father Maryanto (54 years old) lives in Bali with his wife and three children and is a healthy man who eats healthy and does sports. In his daily life he runs a traditional Indonesian Batik textile factory, which he has built himself from the ground. He is a beloved employer who gives his employees a fair wage to support their families. However, the factory has been experiencing a loss of income since the COVID-19 crisis and it has become more difficult for our family to make ends meet financially.
To make matters worse, our father developed dizziness and difficulty with speaking and swallowing in May and was diagnosed with a stroke shortly afterwards. Despite his treatment (DSA and physiotherapy), his condition deteriorated rapidly, and our father can no longer speak, walk, eat or even swallow water. His body is paralyzed. During this deterioration process, our father also suffered from accumulation of fluid in the brain and lost his consciousness completely. He received surgery to insert two catheters in his brain that transport the fluid to the stomach. The doctor had no explanation for this accumulation of brain fluid, because the brain scans showed good results. His doctor gave up on the situation and decided to send him home.
Instead of giving up on our beloved father, we decided to take him to the best neurosurgeon in town and this surgeon discovered that our father has four rare Lymphoma tumors in his brain that grow bigger every day. Unfortunately, it turned out that the first hospital misdiagnosed his condition from the start. The surgeon then removed some of the tumors through surgery, but radiation and chemotherapy are needed to completely cure our father.
So far we have paid all hospital costs with our savings and with the help of friends and family. Unfortunately, Indonesian health insurance does not reimburse much, and the upcoming operations, radiation and chemotherapy are not reimbursed at all. I hope this hospital will be the last hospital where our dad is to be admitted and that he can go home at the end and do regular chemotherapy and radiation to fight the tumors in his brain. It is with great shame that we have to ask for your help to pay for these upcoming medical costs of about 22,000 euros in order to keep our father alive so that he can hopefully eat, talk and move independently once again.

Ondanks zijn behandeling (DSA en fysiotherapie) die de dokter voorschreef, verslechterde zijn toestand snel en kan onze vader inmiddels niet meer praten, lopen, eten of zelfs water slikken. Zijn lichaam is verlamd. Gedurende dit verslechteringsproces kreeg onze vader ook last hersenvocht ophoping en verloor hij zijn bewustzijn compleet. Hierop is hij geopereerd om een twee katheters in zijn hersenen aan te brengen die het vocht naar de maag afvoeren. Voor deze hersenvocht ophoping had de dokter geen verklaring, want de hersenscans lieten goed resultaten zien. Zijn dokter gaf de situatie op en besloot hem naar huis te sturen.
In plaats van onze lieve vader op te geven, besloten wij hem naar de beste neurochirurg van de stad te brengen en deze chirurg ontdekte dat onze vader vier zeldzame Lymphoma tumoren in zijn hersenen heeft die elke dag groter groeien. Het bleek helaas dat het eerste ziekenhuis vanaf begin af aan de verkeerde diagnose heeft gesteld. De chirurg heeft vervolgens een deel van de tumoren verwijderd via een operatie, maar er is bestraling en chemotherapie nodig om onze vader helemaal te genezen.
Tot nog toe hebben wij alle ziekenhuiskosten betaald met ons spaargeld en met hulp van vrienden en familie. De Indonesische ziektekostenverzekering vergoedt helaas niet veel en de aankomende operaties, bestraling en chemotherapie worden helemaal niet vergoed. Ik hoop dat dit ziekenhuis het laatste ziekenhuis zal zijn waar onze vader moet worden opgenomen en dat hij aan het einde naar huis kan gaan en regelmatig chemotherapie en bestraling kan doen om de tumoren in zijn hersenen te bestrijden. Met grote schaamte moeten wij u echter om hulp vragen om deze aankomende medische kosten van ongeveer 22.000 euro te kunnen betalen en om onze vader in leven te houden zodat hij hopelijk weer zelfstandig kan eten, praten en bewegen.
