Our cat snuck out of the house Friday night, and we didn’t realize she was outside until we found her sitting by the front door early Saturday morning. She was bleeding from her mouth, nose, and ear, and we rushed her to the vet hospital right away. After X-rays, it became clear she had been hit with something in the face. We still don’t know if it was a person, another animal, or something else, but the injuries were severe.

On Monday, we had to take her back to the vet for surgery. More X-rays showed her bottom jaw was broken, her upper teeth were pushed into her sinus cavities, and her upper palate was broken. The vet had to wire both jaws together, extract her upper teeth, and insert a feeding tube so she can be fed over the next 4-6 weeks. She needs ongoing care, medication, and support to heal after her injuries and procedures.

I absolutely never had any intention of asking anyone for donations to help with this vet bill, but after several people requested a GoFundMe so they could help, I decided to swallow my pride and create one.
