Help Orphans in Haiti & DR
Recent natural disasters have caused a lot of destruction and devastation in many locations this past month.For those looking to immediately help victims of these natural disasters please consider supporting the upcoming efforts of the Child of Haiti Foundation . What:
Carline and Krystal will be traveling to Haiti and the Dominican Republic to distribute much needed food, water filters, and supplies to several orphanages, schools, and communities.
The trip will be documented and a follow up video will be created to show the positive impact of all your donations.

From October 16th through October 25th
We need help with funding:
Carline and Krystal are paying for their own flights
but we cannot cover the other expenses on our own.
$2500 for transportation around Haiti and the Dominican Republic, food, gas, security (safety), and additional supplies for the students and residents of orphanages.
$6000 to hire 13 teachers and staff for a school in rural Haiti servicing 350 students (for the year)

CoH will provide clean drinking water to communities in dire need.
Clean water is critical to health and Haiti has poor water systems. In fact, the orphanages and schools that Child of Haiti supports currently rely on the local river water for all their needs including bathing, laundry, cooking, and drinking. Many health problems, such as cholera and skin issues, are derived from drinking the rivers' unpurified water. The LifeStraw water filters that Child of Haiti delivers provide clean drinking water for students and families.

Certain schools in rural areas have not been able to start because of lack of funding and the devastation to their school facility (which are basically a structure with a poorly made roof and no walls or foundation).
Eighty percent of Haitians live under the poverty line and 54% live in abject poverty. Only 53% of Haitians cannot read or write, so a student's education is important to their livelihood and quality of life. CoH will help several schools to keep running.
