Help Okai with Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Have you heard of the African proverb, "It takes a Village...."
The Strickland Family could use the 'village' support right now. Many of you are aware that Okai Strickland recovered from a stroke in September 2020. She was diagnosed with Moyamoya Syndrome and must have brain surgery to reduce the risk of a future stroke; and possibly a second surgery in the near future. Our dear friend and mother is scheduled for surgery in December 2021 at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
Okai and James have already traveled to Minnesota for extensive tests in November and they are facing travel expenses for December and at least one or two additional follow-up visits to Rochester, MN. This GoFundMe page is created to help James and Okai minimize major travel expenses for her medical procedures; and to reduce the added stress to their finances. The Family welcomes your support with airline, car rental, hotel accommodations, and meal expenses while in Minnesota.
Anyone who is interested in making an alternative contribution while Okai is recovering, a Meal Train might be created later in December; depending upon Okia's time in Minnesota and anticipated recovery time.
We know your love and compassion is to naturally contact the family, but we ask that contact with the Strickland's be limited so they aren't addressing an enormous amount of questions. If you would like information delivered to the Strickland's, feel free to leave a message via the GoFundMe portal.
Your prayers and support are extremely appreciated and will be a tremendous Blessing to the Strickland Family!
We Love You and Thank You!
