Help Oh Yeah! Farms Rebuild our Greenhouse

Donation protected

This is very hard for me to do, as a stubborn farmer who rarely asks for help, and also considering the state of affairs around the world; to name just a few, COVID-19, and the current ongoing war in Ukraine. With this in mind- thank you for taking a moment to read the sad tale of a smashed Greenhouse.

Here at Oh Yeah! Farms, we want to grow food for the fine folks of Washington State, and we really need your help to rebuild.

On January 5th, Leavenworth received a mighty storm resulting in +50" of snow by the following day. I removed snow from the Greenhouse the night of the 5th during the storm, and again on the morning of January 6th, but I couldn't keep up and when I went back with my second cup of coffee to continue shoveling, the Greenhouse collapsed in front of my eyes.

As soon as this happened, I called my Insurance company and got swiftly shut down as they only cover Volcanos, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Hurricanes... not 100 year snow storms totaling +50" of snow. I have been struggling with what to do, "ask for help?" or "quit farming?". I cant quit now, we need farmers, and moments like this are simply a life lesson. "Nothing in this life worth doing is easy."

With that in mind we are still VERY committed to growing your veggies this season. We have started our first round of seedlings of +2000 peppers, eggplants, and various herbs in our walk in cooler, and will continue to seed another round of +6000 seedlings worth of tomatoes, kales, cabbage, collars, chard, broccoli, herbs, and more in my basement. This will be ok for a month or so, until we need more space to pot up plants before they are able to be planted outside in our colder mountainous region.

The Greenhouse that collapsed was a $20,000 Kit, with $7,000 worth of electricity/fans/heaters, and took a couple weeks to build with a number of extra hands.

We are asking for the $30,000 to help us pay our employees to help dismantle, buy a new Greenhouse kit, build the new Greenhouse, and get electricity/heaters/fans installed again.

Anything you can do to help our farm rebuild this 3000sq' Greenhouse is greatly appreciated. We will vow to continue to grow food for our lovely communities and families.

Love,

Farmer Chris and the Oh Yeah! Team
