Help Odie UPDATED Please read

Hello! I am Anne, cat rescuer, foster, pet lover.

My resident pet cat Odin, AKA Odie, who was recently seen by a Vet, is not well. Odie has a heart murmur and a very bad case of periodontal disease. Left unchecked, these conditions will cause his life to be greatly shorted. Odie is only 5 years old.

Odie was a street cat I found wandering my neighborhood 4 years ago. He was very friendly, so I suspected he was a dumped pet. After trying to find out if he had an owner, I took him in.

Those of you who know me, know all that I do for cats and kittens in my city. For those who stumble upon this fundraiser, I will give a bit of background. I am a cat rescuer. I Foster Kittens for the city shelter and a few different Philadelphia rescues. I do TNR, getting street cats fixed and vaccinated so the cycle of stray cats and kittens in Philadelphia can be reduced. I also manage and help take care of/feed an outdoor colony of 10 feral/street cats in my neighborhood. All of this work is volunteer work, and I use my own funds/income, and donations, to do it. I am disabled now, and on a fixed income.

First, Odie needs a chest X-ray to see if his heart is strong enough for surgery. It is possible that he will need to see a cardiologist after the X-ray. That will be determined. But the most concern is his mouth/Jaw. Odie needs a full mouth extraction of his teeth. He has severe Stomatitis. His gums are swollen and bleeding, and he's in a lot of pain. This condition is genetic, not caused by poor diet or anything like that. An explanation of Stomatitis:

"Stomatitis in cats is a complex, painful, and frustrating disease that causes severe inflammation of the entire mouth, including the gingiva (gum tissue around the teeth) and mucous membranes. Feline stomatitis [often called feline chronic gingivo-stomatitis (FCGS) by veterinary dentists] affects up to 10% of cats." -PETMD

The estimate for the surgery and X-rays is $1100.00. (copy of estimate pictured). I have put a deposit down and have the surgery scheduled for February 14th, 2023. Since I am disabled and barely working, and have 7 foster kittens in my care right now, I cannot afford this surgery without help. Please consider donating anything you can so I can help my Odie get healthy, and still be able to also do all that I do for the street cats of Philadelphia. I appreciate any help I can get, a little or a lot, every donation helps. Thanks for reading this, and please share!

Thank you SO MUCH!
