Help Nisreen’s family get out of Gaza

Donation protected
My name is Dr Kate Ahmad and I am helping Palestinians get out of Gaza. This is a fundraiser for the Al-Shabrawi/Matar family.

Nesreen Matar is a lawyer who was working to help oppressed people, she is also a mother of 4 children, 2 of whom have the metabolic disease phenylketonuria. Here is her story:

‘I am a law graduate who used to work as a lawyer and advocate for the oppressed
In cooperation with her husband, who works for the civil service, we worked hard and created a home. I gave birth to four children, the youngest being two girls suffering from phenylketonuria disease. We have been advised that they need liver transplants.

We began working to save the amount needed to treat our children.

On October 7, the war began. After 20 days of war, destruction, fear and terror had passed, I sent my children with my husband to the market to buy some bread to satisfy their hunger.

After they left, the residential square in which I lived was bombed, and the rubble collapsed on my body, leading to the amputation of her right arm and injuries to the bodies of my sick children.
I now cannot care for my children due to the loss of my arm
My sick children's condition is getting worse day after day due to the interruption of treatment and the wrong diet (PKU requires a special diet to avoid neurological damage), one of them has reached the point of complete paralysis

After that, we were displaced to my husband’s family’s house, where we lived. Very harsh conditions. We lived between distress, hunger, fear, bombing, terror, and destruction. We stayed there for more than a month until news came about the evacuation of Nuseirat and heading to Rafah, and the bombing and shooting began in a crazy and random manner. My husband lost most of his family members, and then We fled to Rafah on foot, carrying only a little food. It took us three days to reach Rafah, during which we saw nightmares that we had not seen even in movies. We had reached the point of sleeping on the streets in the bitter cold, while our children were starving before our eyes, and we were unable to provide any assistance. They had nothing except some contaminated food that we carried with us from the beginning until we reached the Rafah shelter and set up a tent in which we live now, hoping to get out of Gaza alive and go to safety ’

Can you please help Nesreen evacuate her family to Egypt? We need $20000 USD initially to do this. This will allow Nesreen, her husband Najm Al-Shabrawi and their children Abdullah, Eileen, Sahar and Malik to leave with Ya Hala travel agency. Once they are there we will work on raising funds for a prosthetic arm and treatment for the children with PKU.
