Help Nirmal fight Cancer and economic hardship

Our friend Nirmal Baral, was first diagnosed with colon cancer in 2018. He received multiple chemo and was recovering at a good pace. He and his wife started to dream of having a beautiful family and planned to become parents last year. His wife is in the 39th week of her pregnancy. Little that they knew the disease would come back and metastasized in the body, he had a massive stroke last Saturday due to complications related to his terminal cancer. As the result of the stroke, he has lost his vision and has suffered multiple organ failures. He is fighting every single second in an ICU bed, only in the hope that he would be able to feel and touch their baby who is due in a couple of days.


Nirmal is a very loving husband. He got married to the love of his life Nuna Gurung in 2017. They are an adorable couple. Everyone who knows Nirmal knows that he is a very kind and generous person. He has always been the one to help everyone around him and even to the strangers in need. He came to the USA in 2014 from Nepal to follow his dream of becoming a good researcher and helping/serving his community. Nirmal is currently a graduate student in the department of physics at the University of Alabama. He moved to Tuscaloosa in 2016 as a PhD student from Florida Atlantic University, where he did his MS in Physics.


Nirmal has been admitted to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama since last week. This GoFundMe is created to help Nirmal and his wife cover the medical expenses and to get through this difficult time. Nirmal is the sole breadwinner in his family and will need a lot of help as his wife will give birth to a child anytime soon . As anF2 visa holder (spouse of an international student) she is not allowed to work in the US.
