Niko Polischuk, just turned 13 and needs your support to travel and compete at Mexican National Championships in Oaxaca and International Surf Association World Championships in late 2019. Surfing is the newest Olympic sport and Niko has a great chance to represent Mexico in the future.
Niko is the current under 14 Mexican national champion, Under 18 Nayarit state champion and recently placed in the top 10 at a Men's pro invitational event. He has dedicated himself with consistency to surfing and is currently one of Mexico's best young surfers with a real shot at the Olympics and a professional carreer.
Surfing is not an easy or lucrative sport. It is a long and difficult path to success. Travelling, equipment and support are needed. There is very little corporate sponsorship or state support for young athletes in Mexico. His parents are divorced and live a simple life full of mutual love and support for their children, yet struggle with the growing expenses and needs of raising an elite athlete in the small but expensive coastal towns in Nayarit, Mexico.
Niko grew up with surfer parents in Sayulita and literally learned to walk on the sand. He was swimming and surfing from a very early age. Niko understands the dedication and hard work required to succeed and is doing the "work" needed daily.
