Help Niki Kiss Cancer Goodbye

My Dearest friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

As many of you may know I have been in the trenches battling adenocarcinoma in the left upper lobe of my lung since April of this year. I had no signs or symptoms, but had become ill in April and went to Urgent Care to retain a COVID test where a chest x-ray was conducted and a large mass was found on my left lung. From that point moving forward, a snowball of medical events began to unfold that needless to say I was less than prepared for. On May 22, 2023, I underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Unfortunately, there were complications with my anatomy during surgery and I required a full lobectomy. With complications to my surgery, I spent over three weeks in ICU and a total of approximately eight weeks hospitalized. This has affected my life profoundly in so many ways. I have had to take a leave of absence from work until I fully recover, I am now home-bound due to my oxygen needs and require quite a bit of assistance with daily care. Despite the immense emotional and physical toll, I have remained steadfast with determination to overcome this adversity and live life to the fullest. I have kept a positive outlook because, basically that is all I have control of. As many of you may know I unexpectedly lost my husband in September of 2021 to COVID, I thought at that time that my life had been forever changed, and it had, however, with what I am going through now with repeated collapsing of the lungs, fluid buildup, and chronic respiratory failure, I have experienced a new normal, and my life has been profoundly altered. I want to live loudly, exuberantly, and without making any excuses for my tenacity. I would greatly appreciate any assistance that one could offer at this time. This is a very difficult ask for me or position for me to be in. I greatly appreciate any assistance that could be provided in love. I promise it will not be wasted in haste. In addition, I am facing a breast biopsy for a mass that was found in my left breast, all I know is that I am strong, and I will be hanging on, I’ve got so much more to fight for. My dear family and friends, I promise to make you proud, to honor you, and to show you what living is worth.

My treatment goal is to raise $10,000 to alleviate the financial burden that accompanies ongoing treatments, medications and health care expenses, these funds will enable me to focus solely on my health and well-being, without the added stress of medical bills and financial constraints.
