I'm Natalia (Naty) Amao, a Peruvian adventure guide for the past 11 years, and working with Amazonas Explorer for over 5 years now.
I'm so passionate about my work, the mountains and showing new friends the wonders of Peru is my love.
But Covid19 has changed all that and, as the main breadwinner for my family, with no guiding income for the foreseeable future, I need to reinvent myself to help put food on the table and pay the bills.
My plan is to use the land I have to create an organic garden to produce fresh healthy and organic vegetables to sell locally.
Hopefully this way, I can provide my family not only with good tasty vegetables but also to generate income with their sale to my friends and contacts nearby.
I already have the perfect place, I just need to finish it and get set up.
With the S/5,200 ( £1144) I am hoping to raise, I will spend it on:
S/1200 (£259) on the construction of a water well
S/1500 (£336) on a watering and irrigation system
S/2500 (£549) on seeds, organic products and compost
Any help you can give me to help me make this project into a dream come true will be greatly appreciated to help me feed my family.
And, for sure, when the time comes for you to visit Peru, I will be most happy to share with you, not only the great Machu Picchu and the beautiful outdoors of Peru, but also my delicious organic vegetables from my very own garden.

How it works:
I, Paul Cripps, owner of Amazonas Explorer have agreed to help set up these Gofundme crowdfunding pages for my guides who are struggling to make ends meet whilst the tourism industry implodes in Peru. We hope it will be back one day soon, but for now, they need to reinvent themselves in order to feed their families.
The funds will be collected here in the UK into my account and then I will pay the exact equivalent in Peruvian soles from my Peruvian account into their personal accounts to minimise bank transfer fees and exchange rate fluctuations.
I will also personally contribute the first $150 of each proposal to help them get started. This will be donated directly into their accounts to avoid charges.
Our guides provide a big part of the magic of any trip to Peru and it is their personal touches, professionalism, wit and charm that makes each trip they guide unforgettable.
So, if you enjoyed your trip to Peru with one of our guides, please give what you can.
I know times are difficult everywhere but these guides are true heroes, their projects are borne out a desire to survive this pandemic and come out the other side better for the experience.
