Help nanaimo man who was HIT AND RUN with recovery

Hi, my name is Kayleen Salter and I am the daughter of the Nanaimo homeless man who was brutally attacked while he was pushing his belongings down the road on Victoria Avenue. His name is Charles Samuel Salter, and regardless of his actions that led him to homelessness we still love him.I really need financial support from my community in order to come home and support him, I live in Alberta and times are tough financially as it is, my bills are piling up and I’m unable to even focus on work because I’m so immensely scared and worried over my dad. I can’t believe this has happened.  Multiple people were involved in the incident, and Ive been told that he was run over multiple times. They exchanged some words (these of which are unknown to me at the moment as he’s unable to communicate verbally due to the things in his lungs helping him breathe) and the driver of the car ran him over with the car a couple times, causing serious damage to his body, and then one of them hopped out of the car and pepper sprayed him while he was still on the ground. Thankfully witnesses were able to make him comfortable as he had multiple bones broken. I am shocked and utterly heartbroken for my father. At this time, I am unable to see him due to the state he is in. Not even my auntie who is a nurse can see him. I am asking for a little bit of help for when the time does come, I’ll be able to go and see him and help in any way that I can, I live in Alberta and I’ll need to travel home to Victoria bc where he is currently being treated for his injuries while on a intubator, I don’t even know what to expect when I do get to see him. My heart is utterly broken and all I can ask is why why why, my brother and I would like to go see our father and show him that regardless of his choices that led him to being on the street, we still love him and want him to recover in time. He has a very long journey ahead of him in regards to recovery and I want to be there with him. I’ll need to take time off of work, I’m currently expecting my second child so this has not been easy news for me, or our family. I just want him to be okay and heal.
