Please help my wife’s suicide loss & MH recovery

My name is David S. I am starting this fundraiser to help my wife with her long standing battle with trauma, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, and the sudden loss of her mother to suicide.

Why I'm fundraising

Her mother took her life 2 weeks after wedding dress shopping. Our world got turned upside down. On top of that, she has been dealing with years of medical issues including Lymes, Narcolepsy with Cataplexy, and numerous tests to get to the bottom of her physical condition.

She has been in a trauma/mental healthcare treatment center for the last 3 months. This has been the missing piece to her recovery and the program has been phenomenal for her.

Healing is a slow process, especially when you come from a background of numerous traumatic events from childhood to now. I have been doing my best to save money, sell some of my belongings, and work overtime to help with bills to keep her in the treatment center until she can come back home on a better path.

She has missed 3 months of work and possibly an additional 2-3 months. Her work has been amazing given the time. Disability payments were helpful but they don't come close to helping pay for her stack of medical bills, or the further mental treatment she deserves. Currently insurance covers the facility she is at but her housing fee is $2,000 a month. She was always very savvy with money and had a whole plan set up for paying off our wedding. She thought she could pull herself up by the bootstraps and get through this year. She was even going to cancel our honeymoon that was paid for through our registry. Unfortunately, she can’t since it has been booked for some time.

I can’t take her pain away, so the least I can do is try to help pay the bills and take some weight off of her shoulders. She is a beautiful woman and has helped so many people in her life, she truly deserves to be happy and works harder than anyone I know to overcome her obstacles.

We had only been married 2 weeks before she went away, to some that may sound crazy. To me, it shows how much she truly tried to keep everything together while planning our wedding, and handling her mothers estate. Though I miss her unbelievably, I know she is where she needs to be right now to handle what has been a lifetime of hurt and grief.
