Help My Mom Fight Brain Cancer

In February 2017 my mother was diagnosed with brain tumour. For her, a 51 year old otherwise healthy woman leading a healthy life style, and for all of our family it was completely life-shattering.
She went through a long but successful brain surgery, rehabilitation, several courses of chemotherapy, but a few months later, the MRI showed prolonged growth of the tumour. So she started a 30 day course of radiotherapy combined with chemo. As a result of such aggressive treatment, she has lost her hair and a lot of weight. Radiotherapy made her brain swell, so every day she is suffering from headaches, left side paresis, overall weakness. Her immune system became very weak, that now we are fighting the inflammation of the scar tissue on her head.
We have alarm set up for every pill that she has to take during the day so that we don’t forget and it rings pretty much every hour.
At this point, we need to surgically treat the infection in her scar tissue, and after that is healed, start another round after round of chemo. Ukrainian health system doesn’t cover any of these expenses, neither it covered the brain surgery, 3 weeks at the hospital, all the MRIs, tests, the radiotherapy, all the previous courses of chemo, and all of the supportive medication. ALL of this we paid out of our pocket.
It’s been such a tough tough time, and even though we all try to stay positive, and surround her with love, care and smiles, it’s really hard for her to keep holding up.
At first I didn’t want to share our tragedy with the world, hoping that we can cope on our own. But we are so drained emotionally and all the medical bills have been so hard on all our savings, that I’m forced to ask my community for help and support.
