Help my friend with funeral costs

Dear all, I want to ask you to take a moment out of your day to read this post and see if you can help me.
As many of you know, my good friend Athena Demetriou's father passed away suddenly on 1st October 2018 - 5 days before his 72nd birthday.
This was sudden and shockingly unexpected as he was perfectly healthy and was not feeling unwell leading up to this.
Athena’s sister lived with her father in his council flat and was dependent on him as she suffers from severe mental health issues and unfortunately is on strong medication to help deal with it. She was the one who found him on that awful morning which as you can imagine has made her condition even worse. Now, her life has been turned upside down and she is sleeping on a fold up bed at her mum's house as she will need to be re-housed.
As well as Athena's sister suffering with her mental health, her brother and her mother also have mental health issues. Athena is now trying to keep the family strong and hold everything together for the sake of all their health and also take control of the situation even though she is grief stricken herself. You often hear about the pain of losing a loved one but unless you have been through the death of someone close to you you can’t begin to imagine all of the stuff that goes on in the background behind closed doors. There is just so much sorting to do not to mention the financial strain that is put upon you and at your lowest point in life when all you want to do is curl up and forget about the world.
So I am asking you all for your help. The family does not have enough money to pay for the funeral and this is adding pressure and causing tension at a time when the focus should be on love and support. Athena needs all the support she can get and I think that anyone who knows her would want to help in any way they can so it would be a massive help if we could take some of the responsibility of paying for the funeral.
A donation of ANY size will help considerably and all proceeds will go towards the funeral costs. I know a lot of us are going through financial strain ourselves but even £1 if given by enough people will add up!
Anything that we raise will help give Athena's dad the send off he deserves and will take off the extra stress so the family can have more time to grieve and come together at this very sad and traumatic time.
