Help my family with my medical bill

I'm not usually one to ask for help so this is really hard. I had to go to the ER on Sunday, the 29th with stroke symptoms.
After having 3 CT scans and 2 MRI scans, they discovered I had a small aneurysm and a chiari malformation that required surgery to alleviate the spinal pressure fluid. It was a three hour surgery and I was in ICU for two days, and the hospital for nine total.
My employer stated I could apply for short-term disability leave before the surgery, but now they are saying enrollment is only offered once a year. I will be off work for several weeks with no pay.
