Help my family recent flood victims in MG Brazil

Hi my name is Juliana Andrade and I’m fund raising for my family who recently became victims of the catastrophic flooding in Governador Valadares, in the state of Minhas Gerais, Brazil. Due to heavy rains in the past week, the Rio Doce Valley (Sweet River Valley) water levels rose and started overflowing, causing landslides, and flooding parts of Governador Valadares city.

My brother and I grew up in this city and my family have lived there for many years. Starting on Monday 01/10/22 flooding started creeping into some city areas, and by Tuesday 01/11/22, in some areas the water level rose to 4 meters (around 13 feet).

My family members featured in the picture are the most affected. My aunt Maria, her brother, my uncle Aureo, and his daughters Mariana and Fernanda. Missing from picture are Poliana Aureo’s wife and my uncle Juscelino. Early today, they were rescued by heroic members of the Brazilian civil defense evacuation team by boat. They are now in a safe location, but they have lost everything to the floods, including food and clothing.

What is needed the most is water, food, clothing, and a place to stay. It will take a few days for the water levels to recede if the weather cooperates plus emergency personnel need to clear and declare the area safe to return. Local authorities estimate this will take at least 3 to 4 weeks.

My goal is to raise $5,000 with your kind and generous assistance to cover the cost to supply them with water, food, clothing, and a safe place to stay.

Olá, meu nome é Juliana Andrade e estou arrecadando fundos para minha família que recentemente foi vítima das enchentes catastróficas em Governador Valadares, no estado de Minhas Gerais, Brasil. Devido às fortes chuvas da última semana, o nível das águas do Vale do Rio Doce subiu e começou a transbordar, causando deslizamentos de terra e inundando partes da cidade de Governador Valadares.

Meu irmão e eu crescemos nesta cidade e minha família mora lá há muitos anos. A partir de segunda-feira, 10/01/22, as inundações começaram a atingir algumas áreas da cidade e, na terça-feira, 11/01/22, em algumas áreas, o nível da água subiu para 4 metros (cerca de 13 pés).

Os membros da minha família apresentados na foto são os mais afetados. Minha tia Maria, seu irmão, meu tio Aureo, e suas filhas Mariana e Fernanda. Faltam na foto a esposa de Aureo Poliana e meu tio Juscelino. Na madrugada de hoje, eles foram resgatados por heróicos membros da equipe de evacuação da defesa civil brasileira de barco. Eles estão agora em um local seguro, mas perderam tudo para as enchentes, incluindo comida e roupas.

O que é mais necessário é água, comida, roupas e um lugar para ficar. Levará alguns dias para que os níveis de água recuem se o clima cooperar e o pessoal de emergência precisar limpar e declarar a área segura para retornar. As autoridades locais estimam que isso levará pelo menos 3 a 4 semanas.

Minha meta é arrecadar US $ 5.000 com sua gentil e generosa assistência para cobrir o custo de abastecê-los com água, comida, roupas e um lugar seguro para ficar.
