UPDATE: We Did It! Thank You From the Bottom of My Heart.

Dear Everyone,
I'm absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude! We met our goal in about 10 days– thanks to all of you! Your generosity and kindness restore my faith in humanity.

Words can't express how thankful I am to each and every one of you who donated and helped make reuniting with my father a dream come true. This wouldn't be possible without Allah's blessings and your incredible support.

I'm excited to share that I'll be heading to Cairo in person soon. I'll be visiting the "Hala Consulting and Tourism" office to begin making travel arrangements for my father's trip from Gaza to Egypt.

I'll keep you all updated on the progress!
Thank you once again for everything.
Sincerely,
NESMA ELNIMER

Help My Injured Dad Escape the War in Gaza and Travel to Egypt to Continue His Treatment

I am Nesma El Nimer, the youngest daughter in my small family. We are a family of 5: my mother, father, me, and my two sisters.

I am writing this story to tell you about my injured father who is stuck in Gaza right now. He desperately needs your help in raising $5,000 to escape the violence and reach Egypt where my family and I are waiting for him to help him continue his treatment.

In 2022, with a heavy heart, my mother, sisters, and I fled the rising tensions in Gaza. We left behind a part of ourselves – my father, who bravely chose to stay, unaware of the nightmare that would soon unfold.

Beyond his dedication to his patients as a pharmacist, my father has a heart of gold. He's spent years racking up achievements in medicine, but his greatest passion lies in helping those directly affected by the war. You see him tirelessly working with charities, managing projects that deliver life-saving tents and food packages to families in Gaza.

In March of last year, our world turned upside down when my dad had a bad motorcycle accident. The crash broke his knee and shoulder bones really badly, and he needed surgery with a special metal plate to fix them. He had one surgery, but it wasn't enough to make him feel completely better again. And on top of all that, his shoulder was broken again during the war. His health plummeted, and he found himself right back where he started.

He's still in a lot of pain and needs constant care and treatment to move around without hurting so much.

On October 7th, when the violence erupted, my father was living in the comfort of our northwestern Gaza home. Unfortunately, he, like many others, was forced to evacuate south, leaving our house behind. It was then bombed, shattering our last hope in Gaza.

Because they kept having to move and his health needs weren't being met, my father's condition got worse. There are no medicines or hospitals available in Gaza right now. On top of that, food, drinks, and even clothes cost way too much. Now, my father is in a lot of pain, he's hungry, and he's cold. All he has for shelter is a tent.

War-torn Gaza offers no solace, but my father clings to hope in the Nusairat area. Each day, he searches for even the faintest glimmer of a reunion, a chance to see us again. Your support could be that very hope we desperately seek.

Here is a picture of my father talking about the situation in Gaza on Al Jazeera channel.

Thank you.
