Help my dad on his road to recovery

As many of you know our dad, Ricardo Quintero, has been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks now. He was initially admitted to the ER with breathing trouble and then was transferred to the ICU with congestive heart failure and rapid atrial fibrillation. While in the ICU a blood clot was found in his heart. He was monitored in ICU for 5 days and then was transferred to PCU as he was showing progress. His heart rate and blood pressure both went down. His past medical issues were discussed with the doctors upon arrival. (Not being able to walk, take care of himself, or perform daily tasks). It took us by surprise when they tried to release him home to no care as he lives by himself. During his discharge he was using the restroom in his room when he lost his balance and fell. Due to this happening he was not discharged although he remained “medically stable”. He was evaluated by a PT and an OT who determined that it was unsafe for him to go home alone. Physical rehab was our next step to help him regain strength and balance. The next day Jessica got a phone call that he was showing signs of a stroke and a stroke alert was coded at the hospital. We went from a “medically stable” dad to someone that can’t talk, walk, swallow, and is having trouble following simple commands. MRI confirmed a stroke on the left side of his brain in two different locations. As embarrassed as we are to have to reach out for help, we are asking for donations to help with the costs of our dads care and future care. Our next step is that he will be transported to a rehab facility. The last thing we want to happen is for him to be denied care because we can’t afford it.
