Help My Cousins in St Croix

Last Sunday I got a frantic text from my cousins who live in St Croix - US Virgin Islands. The island has been devastated by Hurricane Maria (they said it was worse the Hurricane Hugo in 1989). She and her husband are in law enforcement and have been working 36 hour shifts to help keep the peace. Looting has started. Last week she told me her generator at the house blew up. She and her two boys have been without power for a week. There is very little power on the island right now and will take months to restore. She asked if I could send her a new generator. I immediately went online and shipped one from Illinois to Florida (there are no generators left in Florida because of Hurricane Irma).

There is a freight forwarder in Medley, Florida that will put it on a ship next week and get it to them on St Croix. The generator, shipping and duties (St. Croix, while being a US Territory, is outside the customs zone) come to just shy of $1300.

I posted earlier in the week to bring awareness to the plight of the USVI andPuerto Rico and many of you reached out to see if you could help. Police in St Croix do not make much money and some of you had offered to help with the cost. So anything you can give would be so amazing! Thank you so much for your support.
