Help mumma Lizzie
Donation protected
When we met Lizzie for the first time, she was heavily pregnant at a pound waiting to be put down. One of our amazing foster carers took her in and few days later we had 10 beautiful babies born in care.
Unfortunately from day 1, we knew that Lizzie had a wound on her chest which couldn’t be x-rayed or operated due to her pregnancy. Lizzie’s foster mum helped her nurse the puppies until they were strong enough to feed on their own. Little bubbas are now doing great, putting on around 700g a week.
Few days ago we have managed to finally investigate Lizzie’s chest wound under a general anaesthetic but all we got was bad news. A kebab skewer has been found in her chest and one of her lungs has been punctured. This means that Lizzie will now have to travel to a clinic which can perform a surgery and hopefully save her life.
Lizzie has been an amazingly brave dog and would love for her to be happy and healthy again.
Dog Rescue Newcastle saves abondoned, neglected and abused dogs without discrimination. We are a NO KILL rescue group run solely by volunteers. This means ALL YOUR DONATIONS go back to the rescued dogs - 100%.
(CAN YOU HELP US? We are also in urgent need of volunteers for our fundrasing events and foster carers for our rescue dogs. DRN provide all equipment for foster carers so there is little to no out of pocket expenses).
Please donate toward this worthy cause.
