Help Mr. Nixon's High School Construction Class

We are two high school students at The Learning Choice Academy in La Mesa, California, and our Construction class is partaking in a tiny home project. Our teacher, Travis Nixon, is a journeyman electrician and CEO of Absolutely Electric, Inc.
Last February, we began working on our project. The class made up of 16 students were split up into four groups: Electrical, Design, Mechanical, and Plumbing. The four groups compiled a list of supplies and each created their own floorplans. The majority of this planning was done virtually. At the end of last school year, our teacher and the four groups collaborated to create a master floorplan that would be used the following school year.
The construction of our tiny home is taking place on our school campus, which began on October 2020. Before being able to participate, each student was required to complete OSHA-10 training and receive their certificate of completion; 14 students completed their OSHA-10 training. The class works on the project 6 hours a week, split into two groups to follow COVID-19 protocols. Our deadline to finish the tiny home is June 14. When the tiny home is complete, we are going to sell it. The money we receive will go to next year's group of students for their tiny home.
The class and guidance from our teacher has made a difference in the lives of the students participating in this project, giving them valuable experience in the construction trade, along with the development of strong friendships during these hard times. Any donations made will go straight to the project, used for materials needed to complete the tiny home. The final day to make a donation through this GoFundMe Fundraiser is March 31. After that date, a donation button will be available on our school's website where you can make a donation to this project.
