Help Mr Chunky pay his ICU hospital bills

Donation protected

Mr Chunky was suddenly admitted into the emergency hospital at Macqueen vets in Devizes, Wiltshire on the afternoon of 10/11/21 and then moved to the ICU at Eastcott specialist vets in Swindon, Wiltshire, the evening of 11/11.21.

He suddenly became severely anaemic. His red and white blood cells are very low. He developed a very high fever of 41.1 degrees Celsius. Stopped eating food and is extremely dehydrated.

From day one, he had a cannula inserted into his arm for hydration fluids. He was only allowed food via a feeding tube in his nose on the evening of 12/11/21 after five days of no food. He has had several X-rays and ultrasounds conducted at both hospitals, as well as a bone marrow test. External and internal laboratory blood tests are also conducted daily to monitor his red and white blood cell count.

The bill at the first vet came to £1380.21 and the second bill at the specialist hospital was updated this morning to £7600+ and will go up daily for the duration of his stay in ICU until he is discharged. Proof of the first vet bill has been provided on his Instagram page under his "Hospital Updates" highlight and the second vet bill will be uploaded as soon as we receive it later on, for full transparency.

Unfortunately, we don't have pet insurance for Mr Chunky as he has FIV and pet insurers don't provide insurance for pets with previous and long term chronic health conditions.

If you'd like regular updates on Mr Chunky's hospital journey, please feel free to follow him on his Instagram @sirchunkleton where I will be updating his stories daily whenever the specialist calls us and whenever we visit him. I then save all of those stories into his highlight.

Mr Chunky is our baby and our world. We don't know what we'd do if we lost him. He means everything to us. This past week, since Last Wednesday has been a living nightmare. We haven't been able to sleep, eat or do anything. We've been crying every single day and probably will until we know that he's going to be ok and make a full recovery.

Every little helps and goes a long way. More than you know. If you can't donate, then please kindly consider sharing this fundraiser to your socials as every little bit of exposure makes a world of difference.

Any money left over after all hospital bills are paid will be donated either to a FIV charity or a cat bone marrow cancer or cat anemia. We are currently researching charities that focus on those two things and will update this once we've decided which charity we are going with.

Thank you for taking the time to read all of the above and for helping us out during this very difficult time.

Please keep Mr Chunky in your prayers. Every prayer means the world to us.xx
